Family Advocacy Program
ACS offers several classes to enhance your family living experience. The Family Advocacy Program offers a wide array of family living classes and services. The program is designed to help strengthen individuals and families, especially those in at risk-situations. Some classes offered, but not limited to include: Anger/Stress Management, Parenting Skills, New Parent Services, Child Health and Safety Issues, Family Violence Awareness, Child Abuse Detection and Reporting and Life Building Skills. Family Advocacy also provides assistance to and acts as liaison for victims of family violence and sexual assault.

Coping with Divorce Class:
This class is designed to offer practical skills necessary to create a two household family system after divorce. Addressing children’s issues associated with divorce to provide stability for children. Focuses on parent’s personal struggles to overcome the loss of marriage and gain healthier post-divorce relationship, while supporting a partnership in parenting on behalf of the child or children involved. This is a FREE class available to active duty service members and their families. Classes are scheduled for 1 evening a week (8 weeks). Contact 568-1132 for class dates and times.

Marriage Enrichment Class:
This program is designed to provide skills to improve marital relationships. Build a more enhanced and positive relationship between partners. Gain tools to improve communication and increase respect between both partners. Pre-marital classes available to provide discounts on marriage license. Classes are scheduled for 2 Thursday evenings a month (2 hours each session).  Call 568-1132 for class dates and times. This class is FREE and available to active duty service members and their families.

Strongest Link (Pre-marital program) provides setting a foundation for the new couple. It also offers the couple a $60.00 discount for marriage license upon completion of the class.

Stress Management Class: 
All day class discussing the definition of stress and identifies symptoms and sources of stress. Through self assessment participants will gain insight into how they manage personal stress and develop positive stress management techniques and skills. This class is FREE to all active duty service members, family members and civilian/contract employees. Also available to unit safety/training programs. 

Class scheduled for July 16 from 0900-1600 at Army Community Service. One Hour Complimentary Wellness Massage certificate through Western Technical College will be provided to all participants attending.

Trans-Parenting Coping with Divorce: This program allows parents to adapt positive communication and relationship skills in working together to assist their children in dealing with divorce.

Child Abuse Information Presentation:
This informational program is available to professional organizations, and unit training programs to assist responsible citizens in recognizing child abuse. This presentation offers information on identifying the types of child abuse, Army and Texas Family Code regulations related to child abuse. Identifying signs and symptoms of child abuse and required reporting methods. This program is FREE and available to active duty service members and their families. Civilian employees, CDC/FCC organizations and unit safety/training programs. Call 568-1132 to schedule presentation.
